The pin-up girl look is flirtyfeminine, and a little bit coy

but not in-your-face sexy. It’s about showing off your shape with body-conscious pieces that fit and flatter, without showing tons of skin. Most of all, this look is about confidence, so dressing up can be so much fun! Nothing says pin up like Bold Red Lips, Bathing Suits, Polka dot prints, and of course the curvy silhouette. What’s great about the beauty and fashion of the ’50s and ’60s is that it is  so accessible compared to other era’s. It’s not hard or time consuming to put on some eyeliner and red lipstick. Curling your hair isn’t that difficult, either, if you have good hot rollers or are skilled with an iron. It’s also the kind of makeup and hair you can rock everywhere no matter the occasion.
As seen I’m wearing a recent purchase I spotted from a local boutique. At first sight I didn’t think the dress would suit me but after trying it on, I just felt in love with it! Bright, fun, dotty, but a tad bit short. It has to be worn with shorts underneath otherwise my underwear would be visible! I really do like the combination of big red roses with the big dots against the white. As there’s a lot going on with the print, I kept accessories simple and I styled the hair into a quiff roll. It’s simple as that. The pin up look doesn’t have to be overly high maintenance.
