I hope you all have had a great week and will have an eventful weekend to come. I’m so thrilled because I’ve just bought a fresh pair of Nike Wedge white sneakers. To be frank I used to only wear sneakers at the gym, but over the last few months sneakers have so grown on me. I love the wedge sneaker because they are so comfortable and they give some height.
It’s great to see that sneakers now exist beyond the gym reigning the street runway serving as a cool, low-maintenance addition to an otherwise style-minded outfit.
The thing is some women avoid wearing sneakers because they feel that they aren’t feminine And then there’s the challenge of understanding how to style them in a way that says CHIC not “sloppy.”
Believe it or not they can look so chic and feminine with pretty much anything. Feminine dresses, sexy sheaths, and sporty skirts can all work when paired with just the right sneakers. Not only will you earn major style points for thinking outside the box, they are super comfortable.
Check out some awesome ways to rock sneakers and look feminine. You’ll want to wear them every day.
Leggings and Skinny pants
Pleather leggings or leather pants look super chic and gives sneakers that dressed up look.
Wear them with dark wash skinny jeans, a simple top, and fitted biker jacket for a chic edge.
Have your sneakers pop with a monochromatic outfit. Black bottoms against white sneakers.
Skirts
Wearing a skirt with sneakers is a way to mix ladylike and tomboy elements, and it’s practical.
Instead of wearing a shimmering chain-mail skirt with sky high stilettos, kick around in metallic Nike Cortezes.
An A-line mini goes great with New Balances and for a leather skirt with Addidas Super Stars.
Do keep skirts just above the knee to avoid cutting off your feet off. An above the knee skirt look says, “I have a lot of walking to do today, but I’m still stylish.
Experiment with contrasts by wearing “tough” looking sneakers with more girly pieces for a unique look.
Dresses
It is summer, so a light weight dress would be perfect with converses or slip ons.
Do play with prints and colours by rocking a pair of polka dot sneakers with a striped dress.
How about a large print floral dress with a sneaker with a small flower print. Just make sure both prints share a similar color.
Don’t be afraid to pair sneakers with your favourite dress! It’s about bending the rules of what is “okay” which makes it so fun. It’s true that some sneakers are too boyish to pair with feminine dress, but some sports shoes actually offer the perfect balance.
Choose slim sneakers such as Keds which help elongate legs or Chuck Taylor’s crocheted sneakers for a lace feminine look.
