Oh, sweet vacation. I’m in Vietnam for the whole week to escape Taiwan’s cold weather and for some much needed rest and relaxation.
It’s the Lunar New Year and the city couldn’t be more crowded!
This week is pretty interesting because the Vietnamese are celebrating Tet. If you guys don’t already Tet is the Lunar New Year for Vietnam and falls on the same day as the Chinese New Year. For the Vietnamese, Tet is like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve all rolled up in one. For me, it’s a wonderful experience to be in Vietnam for the duration of Tet. Everyone is in a very festive spirit and the streets are filled with flowers.
To recharge my batteries, I haven’t been doing anything really. When you’ve grown so accustomed to the craziness of everyday life, that time for quiet and relaxation can work wonders. Even doing nothing! You’ll be surprised! Drinking Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk every morning, eating mouth watering Vietnamese cuisine every 3 hours and interweaving into the relentless, molten streams of scooters is pretty much what I’ve been doing.
I’m off to the beach tomorrow which I’m super excited about cuz I’m so bikini ready!
Anyway I can’t wait to share more of my my trip. Until next time!
