Styling for the Heat Wave

I couldn’t be happier that spring has finally sprung!  The soaring temperatures recently have sent me into meltdown over what to wear each day. Trying to conjure up a look that’s heat wave appropriate, cool and stylish is enough to have anyone breaking out in a sweat.

If you live in a seasonal climate where 70˚ is considered a “bit of a scorcher” , here’s three quick style solutions!

Embrace prints

The summer is all about wearing fun patterns, bright colours and amazing prints that come in all shapes and sizes. When cooler Winter months arrive), it’s straight to the back of the closet we go to recover everything and anything that is slightly reminiscent of Summer’s sunshine filled days. Team the prints with a fabulous summer glow, sandals and a wicker handbag.

All in one

The easiest way to face the heatwave is one-stop dressing; pull on a pretty summer dress, a jumpsuit, and some accessories and you’re good to go.

Breezy fabrics

Clothes made from natural materials—think cotton, linen, or crochet lets your body breathe and cool you off faster. I’m wearing striped linen pants which keep me happily cool! Besides, a lined crochet dress makes for a chic addition to any wardrobe, as does a simple white button down that everyone should own.
