If you’re looking to escape the bustling city such as Taipei, Taichung city a perfect blend of city and countryside atmosphere would be the ideal place be. Taichung is really an interesting place and laid back as everyone says. There are unforgettable skyscrapers light up the city by night and a flourishing modern art scene. Taichung is a city that has long retained the traditional aspects of Taiwan; Impressive temples can be discovered far and wide, and night markets come alive which are bustling with tourists, locals alike. The food is indescribably good, but I’m not sure if it’s worth queuing for! I’d say it’s a nice place to enjoy peace and tranquillity amongst natural green scenery. It was just nice to kick back and take a stroll in the open parks and soak in some culture. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to visit the picturesque wetlands in Gaoemei, which is supposed to be an amazing place to watch the sunset. As it was only a two-day trip, there was so little time. Lucky for me, Taiching is only one hour away.
