The Peplum

Happy Tuesday ladies!
I hope you’re all having a good one and keeping cool because summer vibes are so here. Today’s look is great for a summer’s night out or even the daytime with flats. I’ve recently moved away from dresses and adopted more of two pieces. As seen I’m wearing a flared Peplum top and one that I love for two reasons. For one it accentuates my small waist and two to hide my full belly after eating. When worn with a pair of jeans, the peplum detail not only draws attention to my waist but also dresses up the entire look. And of course with a few accessories. While it seems adding detail to your waist would add bulk, peplums actually cinch in and highlight curves in a flirty way that still has an air of sophistication. Whether your shape is an hourglass, pear, apple, ruler, the Peplulm can be so flattering making your overall look interesting. Worn poorly, and it can lead to exaggerated hips and unnecessary bulk. So what’s the secret to finding the right peplum?

The trick with peplum tops is to find one that fits right. Be sure that the peplum detail comes at the narrowest part of your waist; otherwise, a peplum can add inches to your waistline and make you look bigger than you really are.

Also, if you are petite, a full peplum will add a sense of balance to your look, while curvier girls should opt for petite peplums or those with lesser flare. Check out some outfit ideas for the summer which I hope you’ll be inspired by.
