Ways to have a more beautiful and better week

happier-you

Forcing yourself back into work on Monday after a great weekend can be daunting. The snooze buttons never stops making whatever noise it’s making. I wake up in the morning wishing it was Friday again. I do love my job but…Mondays. Have you ever wanted to know how you can make Mondays a little less depressing, or how about even the rest of the week? Have a read at these Steps, and see how I  make my  week more beautiful and better than the last.

Complete a Big Project I love the feeling of satisfaction of completion  after I get things done. Get it out of the way and you won’t have to think about it. Incomplete task over the weekend will leave you stressed when you arrive at the beginning of the week.

Plan  Do you have any plans this weekends? The key to a happier weekend is planning it. I find that when I set aside time (like, put an appointment on your calendar to read a book, do a photo shoot for my blog) I’ll be less likely to squander the weekend away. I’m not saying one has to schedule their  entire weekend because having those days open is often the joy of weekends.

Schedule a Treat  At least once a week I reward myself a low key treat with something I think I deserve. I’m not talking about going completely crazy.  Sometimes it’s my favourite chocolate bar, a trip to the massage parlour.

Wear Colours One easy and effective way to change your moody outlook is to brighten up your life with colour. Whether it’s wearing a yellow hat or painting a room with oranges and bright pinks, colour gives an inspiring, lively ambiance. Vibrant colours such as yellows or oranges will fill a room with excitement and warmth, while dark colours like greys or browns create a boring, monotonous feeling. When I put on something vibrant and colourful I tend to feel more cheerful and even make others around me feel merry as they visually absorb the brightness.

Drink More Tea I’m a big tea lover. I can drink up to  7 cups or more. Unlike coffee that makes you jittery and puts you on high alert, tea soothes and relaxes the mind. The benefits of tea outweigh coffee and on the plus side, tea won’t stain your teeth as much as coffee does.

Exercise The feeling after I get during and after an exercise session is so amazing. Endorphins trigger a positive feeling in the body, the feeling that follows a run or workout is often described as “euphoric.” That great feeling, known as a “runner’s high,” can be accompanied by a positive and energizing outlook on life. I manage to workout at least 3 times a week which is a mix of pilates, and running and light weightlifting. It really does help keep me in shape and of course with a balanced diet.

Red lipstick I usually kick off the week with bold red lips. It brightens up my entire face, making my skin appear more youthful. Red lips, dark sunnies and I’m out of the door.

Eat fruit  Eating lots of fruit and veg always puts me in a positive mood and I often feel more energetic.  You’ll find me on Sundays making fruit smoothies. I’ve even tried a veggie one. Disgusting but healthy.

Get social  There’s nothing better than being in the presence of good friends.  Now it doesn’t mean being glued to your phone and hitting the like button every second. Go out there, meet up with good friends worth your company or  even makes new ones.

Do something that  you love  Engage in a hobby for the pure joy of it. Mine is playing with my awesome toy, my small compact Panasonic Lumix camera. It’s always with me in the hope that I can snap pics of stylish women in the street.  Hobbies are food for the soul. They nurture our spirit, restore our physical energy, and renew our mind. They can be so stimulating, in fact, that they inspire those magical “aha!” moments. What’s your hobby?

Flowers Don’t you love the warm and fuzzy feelings you get when a loved one surprises you with a bouquet of flowers? Well I really don’t get that feeling much. I just buy my own.  Bright, fresh cut flowers  make the space more welcoming and create a sharing atmosphere. And just think, every time you walk into or through your home, they will make you feel welcome and at home.

How do you make your week a more beautiful and better one? 🙂
