It was far too hot to be out during the day. I spent most of the mornings hiding under a shade hut or a tree. The heat really did get to me. I’m tanned all over and I knew I should have covered up more because my shoulders are still stinging of sunburn! Here I was in Orchid Island for the first time and just for a few days. Mountains, lush green scenery, unique rock formations, majestic coastal views, and the Yami aboriginal culture – are all there to be soaked up on a scooter tour around the island. It was difficult not to be charmed by the island’s culture and the indigenous inhabitants, especially its colorful ingeniously constructed and meticulously decorated canoes. My husband and I heard about the spectacular sunrises, but too bad we didn’t get up early enough. Fortunately for us the Orchid island is just a two hour ferry ride from Taiwan and there will be plenty of snaps to be taken when we return.
Have any summer trips planned? Do tell 🙂
